Our country is ready to cooperate in all issues, which relate to peace. Uruguay is a country of peace, and within our possibilities we try to support other countries, in order they gain peace. We support all the processes, in the basis of which is international law, the principles of the nations’ self-determination and self-sovereignty, as well as the UN fundamental documents”, Jorge Orrico told the journalists.

In response to the question whether Uruguay will recognize the NKR independence, the President of the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay noted: “At this moment I cannot say anything. We have come to Armenia for cooperation. This is not a diplomatic answer: we’ll have to study the issue completely, get necessary information about the problem and try to help”.
